Step By Step Guide To the Medicare Stimulus Payment

1. Obtain a 15 digit Registration Number

  1. Go to the Government's ONC Certified Health IT Product List for an Ambulatory Setting by clicking on the link below:
    http://onc-chpl.force.com/ehrcert/EHRProductSearch?setting=Ambulatory

  2. In the MIDDLE section titled Search by Name or CHPL Product Number select Vendor Name as the search type.

  3. In the Search for box enter Life Systems Software.

  4. Click Search.

  5. Scroll down a little to view the search results.

  6. Check off See Complete Products Only. This will refresh the search results with only ChiroSuite EHR and ChiroPad EMR version 17.0 remaining.

  7. Click Add to Cart to the right of the Product you have installed.
    If you do not have ChiroOffice installed, please be sure to click Add to Cart for ChiroPad EMR.

  8. The next window loads displaying the criteria met by the selected product.

  9. On the right side of the window, click Get CMS EHR Certification ID.

  10. Your CMS EHR Certification ID is now generated, PRINT THIS PAGE FOR YOUR RECORDS.

  11. Click Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program to visit the site and enter this Certification ID when prompted for an "EHR Certification Number" on the appropriate registration or attestation screen.


2. Register at the CMS.gov EHR Incentive Programs website

  1. Go to the Government's Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System by clicking on the link below:
    https://ehrincentives.cms.gov

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Continue.

  3. Please read the warning message. When finished, check the box to indicate you acknowledge that you are aware of the warning.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the window to login using your NPPES ID and password. If you do not have an NPI and/or an NPPES web user account, navigate to NPPES to apply for an NPI and/or create an NPPES web user account.

  6. Enter your NPPES User ID and Password. This login information is CASE SENSITIVE. This means that 'UserID' is not the same as 'userid'. Ensure that your user name and password are entered using the correct case to avoid login issues.

  7. Click Login

  8. Click on the link below to open the Eligible Professional Registration User Guide:
    Registration User Guide for Eligible Professionals (Medicare)

  9. Go to Page 5 of this guide and complete the registration process as instructed by the guide.


3. Attest at the CMS.gov EHR Incentive Programs website

***** ATTESTATION CAN ONLY BE DONE AFTER COMPLETING 90 DAYS OF USING VERSION 17 *****
  1. Go to the Government's Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System by clicking on the link below:
    https://ehrincentives.cms.gov

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Continue.

  3. Please read the warning message. When finished, check the box to indicate you acknowledge that you are aware of the warning.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the window to login using your NPPES ID and password. If you do not have an NPI and/or an NPPES web user account, navigate to NPPES to apply for an NPI and/or create an NPPES web user account.

  7. Click Login

  8. Click on the link below to open the Eligible Professional Registration User Guide:

  9. Go to Page 5 of this guide and complete the registration process as instructed by the guide.
