Question:  When printing, I get a message:  "The designated area is too small for the new format settings"

This message is a friendly one.

Your older printer was able to print wider margins than your newer one. The old one may have been a laser printer that could print up to .25" around the page. The newer one may be an ink jet that prints 5/8" or .625" around the page.

The software senses the maximum margins, and that's why you get the message.

The solution is to open each template with the SmartPad template editor, and adjust the margins. Probably 0.5" would work for top/bottom/left/right margins, but you will have to play with it a bit. I can't imagine it needing to be more than .625".

Do this on only one template, such as RECEIPT.TXM until you find margins that work for your new printer.

When you adjust the template margin, you may need to tweak what is INSIDE the template at that point. Please be careful with RECEIPT.TXM because it's common to break what's inside. You might backup the receipt.txm before you start adjusting the margins.
