To view all the iterations of a specific Complaint Template, use the blue Right and Left Arrows. Note that the greater the number of iterations, the greater will be the randomization of text in the SOAP notes.
Each Complaint Template is assigned a Weight between 1 and 9. This Weight determines the frequency with which each iteration will be used by ChiroPadEMR. The higher the number, the greater will be the randomization of the verbiage. For example, if there were only 2 Complaint Templates and Template A has a Weight of 1 while Template B has a Weight of 9, for each time Template A appears, Template B will appear 9 times. For the greatest degree of text randomization in the SOAP notes, give every Complaint Template a Weight of 9.
Editing a Complaint Template is simple. Place the cursor in the Complaint Template text box. Edit each iteration of the Complaint Template by using the box as a word processor. There is the option to use Merge Fields in each Complaint Template.
The Merge Fields may be typed in. Be sure to type the correct bracket { } or the Merge Field will not work. Although there are many Merge Fields available, there are only a few that apply to the Subjective Complaints Templates.
The Merge Fields are:
• {adj} – this field will add in to the SOAP note all the Adjectives that were entered in the patient Subjective Complaint Main and Related tabs
• {aggravate_relieve) – this field adds in all the selections made on the Subjective Complaint Worse/Better tab
• {complaint} – enters the name of the Complaint
• {severity} – this field enters the Severity that was noted in the patient Subjective Complaint Main and Related tabs
• {frequency} - this field produces in the SOAP note the items entered in the patient Subjective Complaint Main and Related tabs
• {lrb} – this field enters Left, Right, or Bilateral
• {side} – this field enters which side the patient reported the Complaint to be on
• {his} – this field checks the patient’s sex that has been entered on the Patient Info page, and then inserts the appropriate pronoun, either “his” or “hers”
• {he} - this field checks the patient’s sex that has been entered on the Patient Info page, and then inserts the appropriate pronoun, either “he” or “she”
• {him} - this field checks the patient’s sex that has been entered on the Patient Info page, and then inserts the appropriate pronoun, either “him” or “her”
• {patient} – this field rotates through different names for the patient; this includes first name such as John, Tom, Mary, or Susan; the title and last name; or “the patient”
