Additional benefit is provided by the date and time sets for each diagnosis. This is the Diagnosis History button (figure 16) at the upper right of the Diagnosis Window. Click the Diagnosis History button to produce a report listing every Diagnosis Set that the patient has had in the practice. This Diagnosis History list is frequently required by attorneys or insurance carriers to demonstrate that the patient either did or did not have pre-existing conditions that affect both insurance claims and legal proceedings.
Note that the Diagnosis History is a Medicare requirement. It is the Meaningful Use Problem List.
